ITANAGAR, Aug 8: The Bhupen Hazarika Fans Club, Itanagar, is organizing an event titled ‘Bhupen Hazarika Nite – Uniting hills & plains’ at the state banquet hall here on 11 August, with the aim of further strengthening the age-old relationship between Assam and Arunachal.
Prominent artists from both the states are expected to perform at the event, said event coordinator Penya Bagra, adding that the nephew of music maestro Rishiraj Sarma has also consented to perform. Former Indian Express journalist Samudra Gupta Kashyap will be the convener of the event.
“Dr Bhupen Hazarika was one among the pioneers in strengthening the age-old relationship between the people of Arunachal and Assam,” Bagra said.
