Reading promotion campaign held at rural schools

ANJAW, Sep 30: A series of events were conducted at government upper primary schools of Tafraliang, Chipru, QuibangYatong and the KGBV Supliang under Anjaw district as a part of a reading promotion campaign jointly organized by the department of education and Lohit Youth Library Network from Sept 25 to 28 last.
The campaign sessions were conducted by activists of the Lohit Youth Library Network and teacher-trainees at the DIET, Khupa and the Coordinator, Lohit Youth Libraries.
A lecture-cum demonstration for DIET trainees on ‘Techniques of reading effectively to young people’ was also conducted.
A book exhibition of reader-friendly books for the students and teachers was also organised at the DIET, Khupa by the Bamboosa Library, Tezu.
The education department also presented library books to each of the schools to continue the follow-up.
While congratulating the students and the library volunteers for their enthusiastic participation in the campaign, Anjaw DDSE P Tayeng, hoped that the schools would continue to practise the new inputs learnt during the sessions.
