ITANAGAR, Oct 11: The Arunachal Indigenous Students’ Union submitted a five-point memorandum to the chief minister on Thursday, requesting him to initiate early action to fulfill its demands.
The union’s demands include immediate ban on all Indian made foreign liquors, and on the sale of tobacco products like pan masala, gutka, cigarettes, etc, near educational institutes; reservation of 3 percent quota in various government jobs for APST artists; monthly release of students’ stipends (pre-metric and post-metric); inclusion of Arunachal’s history as a compulsory subject for Classes 3-9; and immediate release of the 2018-19 scholarship money to the students studying in various schools, colleges and universities in and outside the state.
