ITANAGAR, Oct 17: Members of the Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS), a national-level voluntary organization, led by its president Raj Nandan Singh, called on Chief Minister Pema Khandu at his office here on Thursday.
Singh informed the CM that the FANS works to create awareness on “the significance of national security vis-à-vis national integrity and emergence of India as a global power.”
Besides national security, the forum also creates awareness on environment, climate change, water conservation, and eradication of social evils, he said.
Khandu commended the team’s suggestion regarding roping in universities in the state to introduce research projects on national security and challenges for Arunachal.
“This would create awareness among university students, who will be shaping the future schools of thought,” the CM said, and assured to take up the suggestion with the Rajiv Gandhi University authorities.
The FANS is conducting a series of symposiums at the government colleges of the state. (CMO)
