KAMBA, Oct 17: Reverse osmosis water treatment plants (WTP) have been installed at five government schools, along with the girls’ hostel of the government higher secondary school (GHSS) here in West Siang district, at the initiative of Liromoba MLA Nyamar Karbak.
The MLA’s initiative, themed ‘Mission pure drinking water’, which was launched on 24 August, is aimed at providing clean and safe drinking water in all schools, health centres and other public installations in Liromoba circle.
The WTPs have been installed at the GHSS’ in Kamba, Yomcha and Liromoba, the secondary school in Darak, and the primary school in Kamba.
The MLA in a release on Thursday said, “The GoI has set a target of providing clean drinking water to all by 2024, and it should be everyone’s responsibility to support this wonderful initiative.”
