Governor emphasizes on skilling unemployed youths

ITANAGAR, Nov 5: Governor BD Mishra emphasized the need for making special efforts to build the capacity of unemployed youths of Arunachal through the micro, small & medium enterprises (MSME) ministry’s programmes.
During a meeting with union MSME Minister Pratap Chandra Sarangi at the Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday, Mishra discussed self-employment and financial empowerment of youths through MSME and fisheries & dairy development in Arunachal.
The governor said that the youths would have opportunities to become entrepreneurs through MSME schemes, and in turn could provide jobs to others as well.
Mishra, who along with his wife Neelam Misra has been making efforts to revive and promote the local loin loom weaving, requested the union minister to assist in the endeavour through his ministry.
“Revitalizing loin loom weaving will boost the rural economy and also ensure economic and financial empowerment of womenfolk,” the governor said.
He said the people of the state, particularly the youths, require guidance and capital assistance in the initial stage.
“With proper direction and supervision, the people involved in fisheries and dairy development will be able to meet the requirements of the state, which at present depends on the supplies from outside the state,” he said.
Sarangi assured the governor that his ministry would provide all required assistance, “both in fund allocation and technical help.”
Skill Development, Textile & Handicrafts Minister Tumke Bagra was also present at the meeting. (Raj Bhavan)
