ITANAGAR, Nov 6: A one-day state level workshop on ‘Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 2.0 and Immunization Coverage Improvement Plan (ICIP)’ for district RCH officers (DRCHOs) and medical officers (MOs) was organized by the National Health Mission, Arunachal Pradesh in collaboration with the World Health Organization here on Wednesday.
The objective of the workshop was to orient the participants on the upcoming IMI 2.0 and assessing the district on routine immunization programme for system strengthening for further training in the blocks and districts.
The IMI 2.0 is scheduled to be conducted from 2 December 2019 to 2nd March, 2020 in 18 districts of Arunachal Pradesh. The mission aims to vaccinate all children between 0-2 years and pregnant women who have missed vaccination as per national immunization scheduled. Efforts are made to reach full immunization coverage of at least 90 percent in all districts, so that every child is protected from vaccine preventable diseases.
State Immunization Officer Dr D Padung appealed to all the parents and public to bring any children, either partially vaccinated or never received any vaccination, at the nearest health facility or contact ASHAs, ANMs, AWW for registration and vaccination during the campaign period.
The resources person for the workshop included WHO’s SMOs Dr Ushma and Dr S Sarkar and State Cold Chain Officer Mejjo Bagra.
