KUGI TAGO, Nov 7: Nearly 60 patients benefitted from a ‘free dental check-up-cum-awareness camp’ organised by NGO Likha Pon Foundation (LPF) at the government middle school in Kugi Tago village in Lower Subansiri district on Thursday.
The camp, themed ‘Giving back to society’, was organised as a tribute to late Likha Pon, who was a founder member of the residential school.
The dental check-up programme, which was conducted under the supervision of Drs Thongon Panye and Likha Eichir, was followed by awareness talks, educating the students about common dental ailments such as tooth decay and gum disease, and their preventive measures.
The NGO later distributed toothpastes and toothbrushes along with rice to the students.
Besides others, the programme was attended by senior members of the area, the HGB, the chairman of the school management committee, and school staff.
