SLSA win 18 medals in Jarbom Gamlin Boxing C’ship

ITANAGAR, Nov 8: The young pugilists from Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy (SLSA), Chimpu, have won 18 medals, including eight gold, seven silver and three bronze, in the just-concluded 2nd Jarbom Gamlin State Level Boxing Championship at Basar in Leparada district.
The medal winners are – Gold: Jack Degio, Abotani Natung, Lukum Kamda, Noklai Wangpan, Techi Nai, Tagru Aper, Happy Ekke and Sanjina Sidasow; Silver: Ritu Tawsik, Rinchin Wangdi, Gyamar Yara, Anthony Natung, Kung Jamoh, Higi Nyikum and Tadang Tadar; and Bronze: Neelam Punia, Teli Amoush and Suraj Sakrinsow.
The sports academy also became champions in the girls’ sub-junior U-14 category, and finished runner in the sub-junior boys’ U-14 category.
Lukum Kamda of the SLSA was adjudged the best boxer of the championship.
The school had fielded 25 boxers in the event, under the guidance of coach Teli Kahi and instructor Dani Tamang, informed SLSA Principal Komen Zirdo.
