MONIGONG, Dec 1: A tourism awareness programme was conducted here in Shi Yomi district by the HRD wing of the tourism department recently.
It was first of its kind where GBs of nearby villages, women, students and locals participated.
Shi Yomi DTO Rita Yorung highlighted the importance of tourism in generating revenue and employment, preservation of culture and involvement of community.
A detailed presentation on the basic of tourism was given by TIO Duyir Yedi.
The participants were informed about various skill development trainings and schemes of the tourism department by the resource persons.
Manigong is a small pristine village located 67 km from Tato, the headquarters of Shi Yomi district.
