NAHARLAGUN, Dec 2: The three days refresher training course for the private secretaries (PS) and senior personal assistants (SPA) of Civil Secretariat and other heads of offices of capital complex commenced here at Administrative Training Institute (ATI) on Monday.
Altogether 37 PSs and SPAs are attending the training programme which was sponsored by the government of India, department of personnel and training (DoPT).
While addressing the officers, ATI Director Pate Marik has termed the duties and responsibilities of Private Secretaries and Senior Personal Assistants (SPAs) as “Office and Human Managements” wherein personal skill development and knowledge update plays vital role.
He said the nature of job they handled is very challenging and different from other normal duties of a Govt. servants. Marik also termed that personal officials of higher level decision making authorities are ears, eyes and hands of the government Govt, as ‘they directly act as bridge between the authorities and different back ground citizens.’ Marik advised the officers to develop sense of humour, protocol ethics, and time management and also maintain official dress codes.
Master trainers are Rajib Bal and Moumita Talukdar from Integrated Business Information System & Solutions (IBISS) Kolkata, West Bengal.
While highlighting the course objective and contents, Moumita Talukdar said, that citizens expectation and demand on governance are changing. She said those officials directly dealing with citizens are ambassador of their organizations and offices and they should update their knowledge as well as attitude to live up to the expectation of citizens. Nani Khambo, Assistant director ATI-cum- Course Coordinator also spoke on the occasion.
