RGU seminar on AI concludes

RONO HILLS, Mar 6: The two-day seminar on ‘artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning’, organized jointly by Rajiv Gandhi University’s (RGU) electronics & communication and computer science & engineering departments, concluded here on Friday.
Addressing the valedictory function, the programme’s convenor, Kurmendra, spoke about using AI technology to better the lives of the people of the state and the country, while co-convener Bhaskar Jyoti Chutia underscored the contribution of AI in making life easier and said “it is the need of the hour to adopt AI and machine learning.”
Engineering & Technology Dean, Prof Pradip Kumar Kalita, stressed on the relevance of the topic, and Computer Science & Engineering Professor Utpal Bhattacharjee said “a smart society needs intelligence systems which can only be achieved by application of artificial intelligence and machine learning.”
Gauhati University Professor Kandarpa Kumar Sarma and RGU’s Electronics & Communication HoD, Jagdeep Rahul, also spoke.
