AALO, Mar 13: The main pipeline that carries water to the township here in West Siang district was badly damaged on Thursday.
This is the third time that the pipeline, which carries water from the Ene river, has suffered damages. The town is now likely to face water shortage for at least three days.
Meanwhile, the water stored in the tanks at various locations is being used to meet the residents’ needs. Once they are emptied, the tanks may require a long time to be refilled after the pipeline is restored.
The restoration work is being carried out by the Aalo PWD division. (DIPRO)
