ZIRO, Mar 26: The Lower Subansiri district administration has started door-to-door delivery of essential commodities and medicines in Ziro-Hapoli area.
Orders may be placed by sending the requirements to the WhatsApp number 6009476805. The option of paying through PoS is available.
The first consignment of eight orders was flagged off by EAC Bamin Tarang here on Thursday.
“With this facility, all the grocery shops shall remain closed till further orders,” Tarang said, and reiterated the need for implementing complete lockdown to prevent Covid-19.
“The volunteers and delivery boys have been briefed on the safety measures, and direction has been issued to maintain distance,” he said.
W/Siang admin works out services delivery
The West Siang district administration has worked out modalities to ensure delivery of essential commodities to the consumers throughout the lockdown period.
During a meeting chaired by ADC Liyi Bagra in Aalo on Thursday, it was decided that four departmental vehicles will be requisitioned to transport essential commodities to the sectors and the colonies on a roster basis.
The DFCSO and the market committees will coordinate with the shopkeepers in supplying the commodities.
The ADC has issued strict instruction to locate students, labourers and traders who have entered the district in the past two weeks, in order for them to be quarantined and kept under observation for a fortnight.
The lockdown in the district is being observed. Several villages are performing rituals to ward off the coronavirus, while fencing has been erected at some villages and sectors to ban the entry of vehicles and people.
The Paktu Ao Youth Welfare Association, which has volunteered to assist the administration, will also be engaged in various duties. (DIPROs)
