Former councillor urges landlords to waive off rent

ITANAGAR, Apr 4: Former IMC councillor, Gora Lotak, has appealed to the landlords in the capital, including those who own commercial establishments, to forgo seeking rent for March and April in view of the nationwide lockdown.
He said a majority of the people in the capital complex who are from the districts and from outside the state are facing severe difficulties due to the lockdown.
“Because of the lockdown people are facing a lot of problems. Most of the people living in the capital complex are working in private organizations and doing businesses. But due to the 21-day lockdown, everything has come to a standstill. Therefore I appeal all the landlords to not charge rent for the months of March and April,” said Lotak.
He said he himself is waiving off two months’ rent from his tenants.
