ITANAGAR, May 29: Two people were killed on Thursday night in a tragic road accident near Shiv Mandir between Itanagar and Naharlagun.
A truck carrying construction material fell into the gorge killing the driver and handyman on the spot.
The Itanagar police station OC Phasang Simi, informed that the fully loaded truck bearing registration No RJ. 14GJ-6942, carrying tiles was on its way towards Lekhi village when it fell into the gorge.
The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 35 year old Om Prakash Choudhary while, handyman is 25 year old Manoj Kumar Choudhary.
The deceased were from Mundawar, Alwar in Rajasthan.
The police had sought the help of T.K Engineering to retrieve their bodies as it was buried under the heap of tiles.
After postmortem at TRIHMS, the bodies were handed over to the relatives on Friday.
A case has been registered at Itanagar police station and further investigation is on.
