PASIGHAT, Jun 15: In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, East Siang DC Kinny Singh has issued a fresh order, adopting some regulations under the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, in order to restrain movement of individuals and vehicles in Pasighat town.
As per the order issued on Sunday, all shops and commercial establishments, except the pharmacies in the township, will remain closed till 18 June. Mass gathering has been strictly prohibited during the period. However, safe home delivery of food and essential items will be allowed.
Places of worship will remain closed till 30 June.
The order also states that movement of outbound passengers from Pasighat is prohibited, except for medical emergencies. “Movement of convoys of other districts across Pasighat township will be facilitated by the police,” it states.
Movement of vehicles carrying goods and essential commodities is allowed as per the existing regulations and guidelines.
Two days ago, the district administration had imposed Section 144 CrPC in Pasighat township and adjoining Yagrung and Sille-Oyan circles, prohibiting opening of shops and movement of individuals and vehicles.
Meanwhile, on Monday, the Ruksin ADC also issued a similar order, prohibiting opening of shops (except pharmacies) in Ruksin area, and interstate movement to nearby Jonai (Assam) till 20 June.
As per the order, “any person exiting towards Jonai must be sent to a facility quarantine centre in Pasighat for 14 days.”
The ADC’s regulatory order came after six persons who were under home quarantine in Jonai tested Covid-19 positive, increasing the risk of transmission of the virus.
