YUPIA, Jun 17: Washable cotton masks, IEC materials, soaps and gloves were handed to publicity agents (Gram Preraks) as part of a one-day orientation programme jointly conducted by the information and public relations department and health department Papum Pare district at DIPRO office here on Wednesday.
The programme was aimed at sensitizing the Gram Preraks appointed under Arunachal Rising Campaign programme, about their role and responsibility in the present covid-19 pandemic and how to work with health workers and village level authorities in successful implementation ARC activities at grassroots level.
Speaking as a resource person on the occasion, Papum Pare district medical officer Dr. Subu Tasso Kampu highlighted on preventive measures of covid-19 like social distancing, use of mask, hand hygiene and personal hygiene to prevent spread of corona virus. She further asked all Gram Preraks to advise the people to maintain social distancing during travelling and social gatherings.
She further advised all to work with missionary zeal in coordination with GBs ASHAs and Aganwadi workers to create more awareness among people in remote areas to follow basic health advisories and not to panic but stay alert against covid-19. She also spoke on the need for sensitization of people on dengue and malaria preventive measures.
Gram Preraks from Balijan, Kimin, Mengio, Sagalee and Doimukh and three ASHA facilitators from Doimukh attended the programme. (DIPRO)
