MIAO, Jul 11: More than 100 strike force and contingent employees of the Namdapha National Park (NNP) here in Changlang district have demanded immediate release of their wages pending for the last 15 months.
“We knocked all the hopeful doors for clearance of our wages but other than humiliation and dry assurances, we received nothing,” said Asham Mossang, an employee of the park.
The employees had launched an indefinite dharna from 2 July, but they postponed it till 20 July at the intervention of a few local people, in order to allow the park’s field director and the conservator of forest to pursue the matter with the higher-ups.
However, the agitating employees have threatened to launch the second phase of their movement “in a more rigorous manner” if their demand is not met by 20 July.
