Covid-19 detection tests underway in ICR

NAHARLAGUN, Jul 21: Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) DMO Dr Mandip Perme has informed that tests to detect Covid-19 patients in various parts of the ICR are now underway.
He said antigen testing will start in full swing from Wednesday onwards as more staffers are joining the contact tracing team.
“Today 531 antigen tests were conducted in various parts of the ICR, of which 33 people tested positive for Covid-19. Also, 17 people tested positive in paid quarantine facilities,” he said.
The DMO urged the people living in the buildings where positive cases have been detected to observe self-quarantine.
“Please don’t wait for the government or health authorities to declare a containment zone. Go for self-quarantine and in the meanwhile the authorities will take steps too,” the DMO said.
Dr Perme said antigen tests were conducted at IMC wards 1, 4, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 19, and at the Naharlagun police station on Tuesday.
Providing a break-up of the tests conducted in the ICR, he said till now 4336 antigen, 11814 RT-PCR, and 1528 TrueNat tests have been conducted.
