BORDUMSA, Jul 21: The local administration here in Changlang district has set up at least six temporary check posts at entry and exit points in Bordumsa circle to check illegal entry of people into the district from Assam.
The makeshift check posts have been established on the Wagun-IV link road to the Assam Jagun ferry ghat; at the Tori Bari entry point near Pangali Motors, Bordumsa; on the Goju Tinali link road to Kherem Bisa, via Konapothar; on the Mohong link road to adjoining Assam near the Birsa Munda ground; and on the link road to Gandhi School in Assam, near the Monday market.
Police have been deployed to man the check posts.
On Friday, a representation had been submitted to the Bordumsa ADC by the Covid-19 vigilance committee here along with other organizations for setting up makeshift check gates, in apprehension that non-residents might exploit the crisis to sneak into Bordumsa circle from Assam.
They have also sought installation of laser testing equipment at all the checkpoints and carrying out Covid-19 tests on the shopkeepers in Bordumsa.
The demands for sanitizing the Bordumsa daily market twice a week and checking drug peddling are being considered.
