DAPORIJO, Jul 23: The Upper Subansiri district administration has set up notice boards in the daily market here, displaying the prices of essential commodities fixed by the administration.
The task was carried out by a team under the supervision of DFCSO Peken Yomcha, with support from the market welfare committee.
Urging the vendors to sell meat as per the rates fixed, Yomcha said violation of the order would invite a penalty of Rs 5,000 for the first offence, Rs 10,000 for the second offence, and cancellation of tracing licence for the third.
Police Station OC T Basar said the police would initiate legal action against defaulters, while market secretary Tamin Guha urged the people of the township to cooperate with the administration in order to check the overpricing of meat.
