Action plan under JJM finalized

AALO, Jul 25: The West Siang district water and sanitation mission on 24 July finalized 92 schemes, covering 573 households, in its 2020-21 annual action plan under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM).

Out these schemes, 37 are ongoing, 38 are new, and 17 additional need-based schemes have been added to meet the water and sanitation needs of the district.

DC Moki Loyi stressed on timely finalization of the estimate and notification of sources of water in consultation with village water and sanitation committees.

“The government is giving special thrust to water and sanitation, especially in this pandemic situation, and we should be able to reap the benefit to the fullest,” he said.

PHED AE Bomi Nyorak made a PowerPoint presentation on the financial assistance approved for different components under the SBMG Phase-II, community sanitary complex, IEC and capacity building, state shares, and various convergence programmes with the line departments.

The DFO and the DRDA PD spoke on identifying water resources and on forest clearances and convergence programme with MGNREGA under the programme. (DIPRO)
