Hawai de-linked from rest of state

HAWAI, 21 May: Landslides triggered by heavy rain devastated roads in Anjaw district, de-linking Hawai, the headquarters of Anjaw district, from the rest of the state.

Landslides and uprooted trees blocked the Hawai-Hayuliang-Tezu road at several points, besides washing away a portion of the road near the Dallai bridge.

Heavy rainfall for the last couple of days is also causing spate in the rivers.

Road construction agencies BRTF and Sushee Construction are working day and night to restore communication.

The district administration has urged the public, PRI leaders and government employees to cooperate with the road construction agencies for early restoration of connectivity. (DIPRO)
