PASIGHAT, 1 Jun: The East Siang district administration has issued new guidelines and regulations for controlling the Covid-19 situation in the district.
The order came into effect from 5 am of 31 May, and will remain in place until further orders.
DC Dr Kinny Singh in the order stated that there shall be a total ban on movement of individuals from 3 pm to 5 am daily, except for exemptions to emergency/essential services and departments and those going for Covid-19 vaccination with proof of session/site registration.
“All interstate travellers should strictly follow the SOP for interstate movement and compulsorily undergo RAT at PoE,” the order read.
According to the new guidelines, all shops and commercial establishments shall shut down at 2 pm on all days. All restaurants, bakeries, eateries and cafes should offer only takeaway services and no dine-in services shall be permitted.
“Pharmacies, hospitals, animal care centres and veterinary clinics may operate without restrictions, being providers of essential and emergency services,” the order said.
All government offices shall function till 2 pm with 30 percent Group C staff (on roster basis, as prepared by the HoD/HoO) and all Groups A and B officials shall attend office till 2 pm. “However, the extended restrictions will not be applicable to essential/emergency services departments like the district administration, police, district courts, security forces, fire & emergency services, finance & planning department, medical, etc,” it said.
Agriculture and allied activities, forestry and ongoing construction works will be allowed, “subject to the contractor/owner ensuring adherence to Covid-19-appropriate behaviour.”
Marriages and religious functions will be allowed to be held in the presence of maximum of 10 persons, and no reception parties will be allowed for post- or pre-marriage functions.
“Funeral/last rites-related gatherings shall not be more than 10 persons and all religious places shall remain closed till further orders,” it said.
Public transport services will be allowed to operate with only upto 30 percent seating capacity. Autorickshaws and taxies shall operate with one driver and two passengers, and pillion riding will be totally prohibited on two-wheelers, “except with women and children,” it said. (DIPRO
