One Covid-related death on Sunday, state’s toll at 203

ITANAGAR, 19 Jul: The state reported one Covid-19 death on Sunday, which the health department registered on Monday. The state’s death toll now stands at 203.

An 80-year-old male with severe Covid-19 symptoms tested positive through RAT at Bakin Pertin General Hospital in Pasighat. The patient’s relatives refused to get him admitted to the dedicated Covid hospital and opted for home isolation, the health department informed.

The patient passed away due to cardio respiratory failure with Covid pneumonia at 7:50 pm on Sunday on the way to Yagrung village in East Siang district.

The patient had a known case of congestive heart failure/chronic empyema thoracis. He had taken both doses of the Covid vaccine.

Meanwhile, the state reported 508 cases of Covid-19, with 195 of them being symptomatic.

The Itanagar capital region (ICR) reported the highest 140 cases, followed by 49 cases in Lohit and 35 cases in Papum Pare.

With 30 percent, Kurung Kumey reported the highest positivity rate in the state. The ICR reported a positivity rate of 15 percent.

A total of 458 patients in various health facilities across the state were declared recovered or discharged on Monday.

Currently, the DCH in Chimpu has a total of 49 patients, while the DCHC in Midpu and the DCH in Pasighat have one and 10 patients, respectively. The SQF in Lekhi has 44 occupants.

The ICR currently has 16 containment zones, followed by eight zones in Lower Subansiri and six zones each in Lohit and Lower Dibang Valley (see full bulletin)
