BASAR, 19 Jul: A programme on ‘Cultivation of high-value horticultural crops under low-cost polyhouse under ATMA’ for farmers was organized by the West Siang KVK here in Leparada district on Monday.
Addressing the participants, the state ICAR centre’s Joint Director Dr H Kalita advised the farmers to grow crops in a more scientific manner, “so that this district can be known as self-sufficient for vegetables and high-value horticultural crops, more particularly for king chilli and tomato.”
Plant protection scientist Dr K Suraj Singh gave hands-on training on various aspects of low-cost polyhouse technology.
Poly sheets, agro shed nets, knapsack sprayers, and hybrid ‘Rocky’ tomato seed were distributed to the farmers.
