Chief Minister Pema Khandu while chairing the e-Pragati review meeting on Friday called upon the deputy commissioners of the state to ensure judicious use of funds and timely completion of the projects in their respective districts. Citing the failure of major projects like the Seppa to Chyang Tajo road, he appealed to the DCs to strictly monitor the projects in the districts. This is a very important appeal made by the CM and hopefully, the DCs will heed the appeal. The deputy commissioners can play a very important role in the implementation of the government schemes and projects in the districts.
They are the heads of the districts and are well versed with the problems of the people. All the major projects being implemented in the district are known to them. Therefore, they should ensure that these projects are properly implemented in the districts. In fact, they are accountable for the failure of the development projects. It is time the DCs heeded the appeal of CM Khandu and made surprise visits to the various ongoing developmental projects in the districts. Such visits will boost the morale of the field staffs and also keep the contractors on tenterhooks. It will also keep them apprised of the actual work progress on the ground.
