ITANAGAR, 5 Feb: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Pema Khandu and SJETA Minister Alo Libang on Friday regarding discussing the ‘offspring issue’ in the upcoming assembly session.
Libang, who is the chairman of the joint consultative committee formed by the state government to look into the issue, said that the suggestions placed by the AAPSU and the Arunachal Indigenous Tribes Forum would be submitted to the state government on Saturday for cabinet approval.
Speaking to reporters, AAPSU general secretary Tobom Dai said, “It is a successful culmination of rigorously voicing out on the issue. We are hopeful that the offspring issue will be finally rolled on. We will try that it should be in discussion in this assembly session.”
The state government in December last year formed the joint consultative committee, including members from all the community-based organizations, to discuss the issue, and Libang was appointed as the committee’s chairman.
