MIAO, 5 Jan: A ‘memory installation programme’ was organized on Saturday by the All Arunachal Pradesh Workers’ Union (AAPWU), during which the statue of late Len Bo, former president of the AAPWU’s Miao block, was unveiled at the union’s block office here.
AAPWU president Jalley Sonam unveiled the statue in the presence of Len Bo’s widow, son and the AAPWU’s state, district and block level executive members.
Born in 1970, Len Bo served as the president of the AAPWU’S Miao block for 18 years from 2003, and held the post till his demise on 10 May, 2021.
Addressing the gathering, Sonam recalled the contributions made by Len Bo. “Len Bo not only got land allotment but established a permanent AAPWU office here,” Sonam said, and expressed gratitude to the deceased for taking the union to greater heights.
“We come across statues of leaders throughout the country, but Len Bo is the first worker whose statue has been unveiled,” he said.
