ITANAGAR, 5 Feb: While West Kameng HQ Bomdila receives snowfall every year, this year, after a gap of about two decades, places like Shergaon, Dirang, Rahung and Rupa witnessed heavy snowfall from Friday evening to Saturday morning.
Locals were seen posing for and taking pictures as they enjoyed the snowfall.
When contacted, Bomdila Forest Division DFO Chukhu Loma said that these areas come under a warm and humid climatic zone but, because of lesser human activities due to the Covid-19 lockdowns over the last two years, “the climate is taking its own shape and the sky is getting clearer.”
“Nature is maintaining its own course of action,” he added.
Meanwhile, large numbers of tourists from neighbouring Assam have started coming to West Kameng and Tawang.
