DOLLUNGMUKH, 6 Feb: NHPC CMD AK Singh informed Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein that work on 500 mw of the 2,000 mw Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project (SLHEP) will be completed by August this year.
On Sunday, Mein visited the project site to inaugurate the main inlet valve assembly work of the project. He also inspected the project and took stock of the work progress.
During his meeting with the NHPC CMD, Mein said that the state government has taken the decision to equip the youths of the state with employable skills by organizing training programmes in partnership with the NHPC, so that they can be easily employed once the project gets commissioned.
During the visit, Mein was accompanied by Agriculture Minister Tage Taki, advisor to power department Balo Raja, MLAs Kardo Nyigyor and Tarin Dakpe, Hydropower Commissioner PS Lokhande, Power Secretary Sang Phuntsok and Chief Engineer (Monitoring) RK Joshi. (DCM’s PR Cell)
