The recent incident of leakage of question papers of the Class 8 state board examination is very embarrassing. The leakage forced the education department to reconduct the exams. Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Sunday announced that the SIC will probe into the case of leakage of question papers. Already a principal of a private school has been arrested. The leakage of question papers exposes the unprofessional behavior of the school authorities. Strict action should be initiated against them.
Hopefully, the SIC will take the investigation to a bigger level. They need to widen the scope of the investigation and make sure that the people involved in such heinous crime are strongly punished. The people who are leaking question papers are playing with the future of the students. Also, this kind of incident will make students start doubting the integrity of the board examinations. To restore their faith, the SIC will have to do a proper investigation and punish all the people in the leakage of question papers. The education department also needs to learn from the mistake and put in a foolproof mechanism to ensure that such mistakes are not repeated in the future.
