PASIGHAT, 11 Mar: The prevention of sexual harassment cell of JN College here in East Siang district organised a workshop to generate awareness among the students regarding gender-related issues and sexual harassment of women at workplace.
Assistant Professor Oman Taloh, who is also the coordinator of the cell, advised the students that they should approach the internal complaint committee if they face any kind of sexual harassment at their college.
Vice Principal Dr SD Chaudhury emphasised on the “need to take a gender neutral approach to break the traditional mindset,” while NAAC cell coordinator Dr SN Jha emphasised on “developing a mindset of gender equality to solve the issues of gender based discriminations.”
IQAC coordinator Dr DP Panda spoke on the importance of learning about gender-related issues and how it can change the socioeconomic phase of the nation.
Assistant Professors TS Gibo, Dr Yana Bagbi and Dr S Jayanthi interacted with the students as resource persons.
The session was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr Putoli Langkam.
