TAWANG, 13 Apr: The ‘Aashwasan’ campaign to break the chain of the spread of tuberculosis (TB) and covid-19 infection was launched by ADC Lobsang Tsering at KDS district hospital here on Wednesday.
The campaign will be conducted by Piramal Swasthya Management and Research Institute with support from the department concerned in 10 blocks of the district.
‘Sputum collection will be done at the village level and free of cost testing and treatment will be provided by the district tuberculosis centre upon confirmation of the disease,’ DTO (NTEP) Dr. Urgen Lhamo said.
The PRI members, community leaders and traditional healers will also be involved during the campaign, Dr. Lhamu said. (DIPRO)
