HAPOLI, 22 May: Various cultural, literary and traditional sports activities marked the 48th foundation day celebration of the Apatani Youth Association (AYA) at the Padi Yubbe stadium here in Lower Subansiri district.
The celebration, which started on 2 May with the theme ‘Zero drug Ziro’, saw the participation of students and youths from the entire Ziro valley.
Members of apex Apatani bodies like the Tani Supun Dukun and the Apatani Women’s Association Ziro, besides senior citizens and GBs also attended the celebration on 19 May.
On 16 May, Agriculture Minister Tage Taki and Sports Authority of Arunachal Chairman Byabang Taj attended the closing ceremony of the inter-village football tournament.
The final match of the tournament was played between Hari Youth FC and All Hong Youth Association. Hari Youth FC won the match. The ‘fair play team’ award went to All Hija Youth Association. (DIPRO)
