ITANAGAR, 24 May: The skill development & entrepreneurship (SDE) department on Tuesday organised an ‘orientation-cum-send-off programme’ at the Udyog Sadan here for 37 selected youths who will undergo apprenticeship/on-job training (OJT) for one year in different trades under the State Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (SAPS), dovetailed with the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).
Faridabad-based JBM Automobile Ltd will provide apprenticeship/OJT in the automobile sector, and Noida-based M/s Quess Corp Ltd will provide apprenticeship/OJT in the IT sector to the youths for a period of one year.
During the period of apprenticeship/OJT, the youths will be provided with stipend @ Rs 10,700 per month under the NAPS.
The expenses for transportation, boarding and food during the training period will be borne by the state government under the SAPS.
SDE Director Subu Tabin and Assistant Director Jumbom Riba briefed the youths on the apprenticeship programme, and highlighted the need to acclimatise with the new environment.
“More youths will be provided high-end skill development training in sectors
like aviation for cabin crew, airport ground staff in animation job role and in drone technology with a provision to place in high salaried,” the director said, according to a release from the department.
Tabin informed that, “in the previous year, 300 candidates were trained under the Chief Minister Yuva Kaushal Yojana, of whom 224 got job offers and placements in various parts of the country.”
He informed that another 125 youths were sent to Guwahati (Assam) for high-end skill development training in the automotive sector.
