RGU declares 33% of campus as reserve forest

RONO HILLS, 5 Jun: Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) here marked the World Environment Day on 5 June by declaring 33 percent of the RGU campus as reserve forest.

The declaration was made jointly by Vice Chancellor Prof Saket Kushwaha and Registrar Dr NT Rikam “to ensure protection of ecosystems within the campus,” according to a release from the RGU PRO.

The day’s programme also included releasing fingerlings into the pond of RGU’s ‘Incubation-cum-Incubation Centre’.

The university also organised a ‘100-plant plantation drive’, during which 100 saplings were planted in the NSS park.
