JWCAPTU reiterates demands, serves ultimatum

ITANAGAR, 7 Jun: The Joint Working Committee of Arunachal Pradesh Trade Unions (JWCAPTU) said that it has once again submitted a memorandum to the chief secretary’s office, reiterating its demands.

The union said that, even though it had submitted a memorandum to the chief secretary in this regard in September 2021, and again on 11 January this year, there has been no response from the state government, which, it said, has “hurt the sentiments of the workers of the state.”

The JWCAPTU’s demands are: enhancement of wages of contingency and casual employees to Rs 3,000; enhancement of the grade pay of WC employees, including WC computer operators, from Rs 1,900 to Rs 2,400; creation of a WC post in every engineering department; exclusion of MTS post from APSSB interview and exams; and regularisation of contingency/casual workers who have served their departments for 15 years and more.

Requesting the chief secretary to look into its demands “on or before 45 days,” the JWCAPTU on Tuesday said that the workers of the state would otherwise start a democratic movement.
