ITANAGAR, 28 Jun: Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Mama Natung, accompanied by three other MLAs of East Kameng district on Tuesday met union minister Kiren Rijiju in New Delhi and discussed the problems faced by the JNV in Seppa.
The union minister, after speaking to the authorities of the JNV Samiti, assured to issue “immediate work allocation” for construction of boys’ and girls’ hostels, teachers’ quarters and boundary wall during the current academic session.
The JNV Samiti will also be conducting recruitment for the post of the principal, which is lying vacant, and will post a “full-fledged principal” for the school “on priority basis,” the principal resident commissioner in New Delhi informed in a release.
A technical team will also visit the school to solve the drinking water problem there, the release said.
They also discussed the matter of approval by the RTH ministry to declare the Chayang Tajo-Seppa road as a national highway “on priority basis.”
In another meeting, Natung and the three MLAs met union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda and discussed pending issues of additional infrastructure under the EMRS in Lumla and Bana.
The union minister assured them that the balance fund under the scheme would be released immediately. Munda also assured construction of a tribal cultural convention hall/multipurpose cultural building in Seppa. He had announced this during the golden jubilee Nyokum Yullo celebration in Seppa this year.
MLAs Tapuk Taku, Guruk Pordung and Hayeng Mangfi accompanied Natung.
