NAHARLAGUN, 8 Jul: Marquee FC came from a goal behind to defeat Gumto SC 3-2 in a day-5 match of the MSL 7-A-Side Football Tournament at Mesque Champion’s Arena in Lower Model Village here on Thursday night.
Gumto SC was leading Marquee FC 1-0 at halftime with a goal from Chukhu Magar.
Marquee FC restored the parity in the second half through Landi Millo (1-1).
Millo again struck a few moments later to give his team a 2-1 lead. But the lead was short-lived as Chukhu Abo scored for Gumto SC to level the score 2-2.
The match looked to be heading for a draw, but Hipu Talin scored in extra-time to seal the victory for Marquee FC.
In the second match, Underdogs FC, belying their name, registered an upset 4-2 win over Amigos United FC.
Omin Pung and Omang Dodum put Amigos United FC ahead, scoring two goals in quick succession in the first half.
Underdogs FC, stung by the early goals, hit back and scored a goal through Punyo Taling (2-1).
In the second half, Underdogs FC completely turned the table in their favour and scored three more goals to snatch the victory.
While Sumit Barman scored the equaliser, the other scorers were Michi Maku and Tailang Cosy.
In the third match, Tassar United FC came from two goals behind to beat Friends United FC 3-2.
Friends United FC were leading 2-0 at the end of the halftime with goals from Geyum Padu and Duli.
Khyoda Tamo scored the breakthrough goal for Tassar United FC in the second half. Thereafter, Punung Taku scored the equaliser and Tagru Jame netted the winning goal.
The fourth and last match played between Bizli FC and Model City FC ended in a 1-1 draw.
Gyan Gyan and Boa Tuka were the scorers for Bizli FC and Model City, respectively.
