YACHULI, 9 Jul: Following the recent arrest of four persons and seizure of narcotic drugs and over Rs 3 lakhs from Doimukh by the Yachuli (Lower Subansiri) police station officer-in-charge, a team from the Yachuli police station, led by OC SI Tania Uli, went to Itanagar and arrested one Puseng Pegu (35) from near the gonpa, and seized three packets containing 38 gms of suspected heroin, along with local ornaments, Rs 3,101 and a Chevrolet car (AS-06G-3363) from him, in the
presence of Executive Magistrate Aying Perme and Inspector Ongsang Rongrang of the Itanagar police station.
“The arrest and the recovery of drugs and other items were part of subsequent chain investigation of earlier case of Yachuli PS Case No 07/22 u/s 22 (a)/27 NDPS Act,” informed Ziro DSP Tasi Darang in a press release on Saturday.
The accused, who was arrested on Friday, has been brought to the Yachuli police station for further interrogation, he said.
