TEZU, 18 Aug: The Lohit district administration, in collaboration with the Bamboosa Library and the Forum of Activists of Lohit Youth Libraries (FALYL), organised a three-day “NBT book exhibition, that went around Tezu town and the educational institutions,” from 15-17 August, as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the FALYL informed in a release on Thursday.
The exhibition was inaugurated by local MLA Karikho Kri, in the presence of DC Marge Sora, and others.
Looking at the wide variety of books put up by the National Book Trust (NBT), Kri lauded the NBT officials and the FALYL for “putting up a splendid collection of books for all age groups.”
The exhibition featured books on popular science, history, Indian culture, Vedic mathematics, etc. The Bamboosa Library exhibited books featuring “a children’s biography on Mahatma Gandhi, in five Arunachali languages and Bodo,” among other books.
The NBT, based in Kolkata (WB), has offered to send a mobile book exhibition bus to reach out to more places in eastern Arunachal in the coming winter, the forum said.
