DIYUN, 20 Apr: Taking cognisance of the learning levels achieved in the 2022-’23 academic year, and to prevent any drop in the learning levels in children studying in 30 government primary and upper primary schools due to closure of schools during the summer vacation, the Changlang district administration and the education department, in partnership with India Foundation for Education Transformation (IFET) have launched a ‘school readiness’ programme, under which the IFET has inducted and trained 30 volunteers from the community.
These 30 volunteers will take ‘mohalla classes’ in their respective villages from 24 April to 31 May. The coursework will consist of various learning elements focused on foundational literacy and numeracy.
The volunteers will spend 2-3 hours daily teaching children using high quality resources and child-friendly, fun-filled activities provided by the IFET, in their own villages.
