JOLLANG, 18 May: BSc and MSc agriculture students of Himalayan University (HU) here participated in an awareness programme on ‘Mission LiFE’, aimed at promoting environmentally sustainable individual and collective lifestyle, at the university on Thursday.
During the programme, organised by the Northeast regional centre (NERC) of the GB Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment (NIHE), in collaboration with HU’s agriculture department, NIHE-NERC head Dr Devendra Kumar apprised the participants of “the safety measures for implementation in our daily life for sustainable development,” while NIHE-NERC scientist Dr M Sarkar dwelt on “sustainable development of the environment and awareness and importance of maintaining healthy ecosystems,” the university informed in a release.
NIHE-NERC scientist Dr Wishfully Mylliemngap advocated “changing lifestyle to safeguard the environment,” and explained how lifestyle changes can be made to “clean the environment.”
The regional centre’s technical officer Ranjeet Kr Singh, and Dr Sivaranjani S also spoke.
