NECCC throws volley of questions to Centre over Manipur violence

GUWAHATI, 24 May: The North East Congress Coordination Committee (NECCC) on Wednesday threw a volley of questions over Manipur violence to union home minister Amit Shah before his scheduled visit to the North East on Thursday.
Vehemently criticizing the centre government over outbreak of ethnic violence in Manipur, the NECCC wanted to know “why is Manipur being neglected?
“No union minister has bothered to visit Manipur to take stock of the situation since outbreak of the communal clashes,” the Committee said and asked “when will the union govt. be showing accountability while innocent people are suffering.”
It said the repeated ban on internet services has adversely affected education, banking and other essential services in Manipur. It further wanted to know when the internet & broadband services will be restored in the state.
What steps have the union home ministry initiated for granting adequate compensation to all those who have lost their properties during the conflict in the hills & valley of Manipur, the NECCC further questioned.
The NECC called for initiating urgent steps for resolving the Manipur crisis and end the perturbing uncertainty prevailing in the valley and hills of Manipur.
