Urgent need for air conditioning in TRIHMS emergency wards

Editor,
Through your esteemed daily, I write to bring attention to the authority (chief medical superintendent) of the Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) on a pressing issue that requires immediate intervention.
The issue is the lack of air conditioning in the TRIHMS. As the summer heat continues to intensify, the absence of proper cooling systems is causing discomfort and potential health risks to both patients and the medical staff.
The hospital is a crucial institution that serves as a sanctuary for healing and recovery. However, it is disheartening to witness patients and their families enduring the sweltering heat within its walls. High temperatures not only exacerbate existing health conditions but also hinder the healing process and compromise patient wellbeing.
It is the responsibility of the authorities to ensure that the environment is conducive to recovery.
Equally concerning is the impact on the dedicated healthcare professionals working tirelessly to provide the best care possible. The absence of adequate cooling affects their ability to perform optimally, compromising their own health and mental wellbeing. This situation risks the overall efficiency and quality of healthcare services in our community.
It is crucial that our local authorities take swift action to address this issue. The installation of air conditioning systems, supported by proper maintenance, is an investment in the health and comfort of patients and medical staff alike. Not only will this contribute to a more conducive healing environment, it will also reflect our commitment to prioritising the wellbeing of our community members.
In the current digital age, where technology enables rapid communication and decision-making, I urge our local leaders to expedite the process of rectifying this situation. Our general hospital should stand as a model of quality healthcare, and that begins with ensuring a comfortable and conducive environment for all.
Let us collectively work towards a solution that demonstrates our commitment to the health and comfort of our citizens. It is my hope that the necessary measures will be taken promptly, ensuring that our general hospital remains a beacon of care and compassion.
