LONGDING, 24 Oct: A joint team of the Khonsa (Tirap) battalion of the Assam Rifles (AR) and the police arrested an active Myanmarese NSCN-K (YA) operative from Longding district on 22 October.
It is learnt that the operative had infiltrated into the district from Myanmar to extort money and indulge in narco-terrorism.
The police and the AR have limited the activities of proscribed groups in the two districts by foiling their attempts to extort and terrorise. (DIPRO)
