JOLLANG, 7 Dec: A total of 210 students, faculty members and administrative staffers of Himalayan University (HU) here participated in a training programme on ‘Meta small business academy certification’, organised at the university on Wednesday by Shillong (Meghalaya)-based Impulse NGO Network’s Itanagar branch office, in collaboration with HU.
Advocate Sunil Mow, who is the founder of the Athu Popu Social Foundation and is a board member of Impulse NGO Network, joined the programme online and highlighted “the objectives and scope of support services which Impulse NGO Network provides to various sections of the society,” the HU informed in a release.
Mow advocated “effective use of social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and reel-making to promote and expand entrepreneurship in small business to help support livelihoods.”
“Technical know-how and skills to use these technologies and tools can become a game-changer in entrepreneurship in today’s tech-driven world,” he added.
Advocates Tado Siga, Tenzing Choten, Handi Miso and Wuthu Linggi spoke on effective use of social media platforms for promoting entrepreneurship.
An online test on basic knowledge of social media was conducted for the participants, after which certification from Meta Small Business Academy were distributed to the participants.
