Stop killing wild birds, animals

Editor,
One day I set out for Daporijo town in Upper Subansiri district to visit my mother and other relatives. On the way, I started missing the memories of my childhood.
One of the memories was that of the melodious sounds of birds and insects. I was eager to listen to them again after years of living in town and to shoot them with my smartphone. But alas! It was heartbreaking to find that all those chirping birds and insects are now nowhere to be heard in my native village.
I asked one of my elders about the reason behind their extinction. He told me that it is the result of humans killing birds and insects rampantly with airguns, trapping glue, slingshots, etc.
This could lead to an ecological imbalance. I was irritated against the hunters and decided to submit a complaint before the head gaon burah and the gram panchayat members, seeking a complete ban on killing of wild birds and animals in the village, and they assured to address my complaint.
I urge the youths and others to stop killing wild birds and animals to save them to ensure ecological balance in our home planet.
